Work hydrogen mini station from baking dishes
Getting hydrogen from water is a problem that people have been solving for a long time. Craftsmen do not bypass the problem, offering different crafts for this. In one of them, baking dishes are used.
From materials, tools are prepared: M8 studs (need 8 ... 9-centimeter length); 10mm nylon tube plastic container; metal nozzle; a metal sponge used to wash dishes. Do not do without oxygen tubes (8 mm); silicone; drilling machine or electric drill; stationery knife; power supply unit. As noted above, 20 molds are used, which are made of stainless steel and are used for baking.
Engaged in forms. Holes are arranged in the bottom of each: two displaced slightly from the edge to the center and symmetrically with a diameter of 8, 19 mm; 5 ... 10 pieces of 3 mm diameter around the perimeter. The latter will provide in future an unhindered passage of gas, and will not allow air pockets to form.
Cut the nylon tube into pieces of 1 ... 1.2-centimeter length. In total, they need 20 pieces. They are placed along the th in large (10 mm) holes in each mold. The 8 mm holes previously arranged in the molds remain free.
Insert into the holes in the bottom of one of the forms of the studs. One of them is in the hole with a piece of nylon tube, the second is where it is not. Dress on the rods the second form. At the same time, the location of the holes with and without a tube is changed. The third form is worn, positioning the holes, as for the first form, the fourth - both for the second and so on to the end. The result is a set of forms in which each even touches one of the rods, the odd one touches the other. The forms themselves in the set should not touch one another.
The resulting structure is placed inside a sealed cylindrical container. It can be, for example, a bulb made of plexiglass. Its transparency will allow you to monitor the electrolysis process.
Close the container with a lid, having previously made holes (8 mm) for the rods. Screw the nuts onto the rods, put on the lid and tighten the nuts on top of each rod.
Using a tester, they check whether there is any contact between the covers, one on the other, which can cause a short circuit. In the lid, before planting it on the container, arrange a hole through which gas will escape. Then they close the flask with it, all connections are sealed with a sealant.
The flask is pre-filled with water. To the outputs of the rods serves a constant voltage from, for example, a car battery. Under the influence of current, the decomposition of water into oxygen and hydrogen will begin, which, accumulating, will go out through the hole in the lid.
